Faulkner House Books, New Orleans

Oh dear, I'm not doing too well at keeping my bookish explorations up to date!

I've got tonnes of goodies to post, but first I'll show you beautiful Faulkner House Books in New Orleans. You can read my travel post on New Orleans here

William Faulkner wrote his first novel Soldiers' Pay when he lived briefly at 624 Pirate's Alley in the 1920s. Now the home has been turned into a bookshop bearing his name.

I had the store to myself when the shopkeeper dashed out to feed her meter. She asked me to keep things ticking over in her absence. I  would've happily done so permanently.

  3. Oh, what an amazing bookstore to work at - cue lots of drooling. Love reading about your book journeys :) I just visited Shakespeare & Co. in Paris, which totally lived up to the hype.
